    Synopsis

That the future kingdom of God is to be on Earth is very clear from some of Jesus’ words, speaking of people coming into it from east, west, north and south.  We will see that the kingdom of God has existed before on the earth.  It was the kingdom of Israel.  However, the citizens of that kingdom failed to reflect God’s ways and after about a thousand years the kingdom was overturned and its last king consigned to exile and death in Babylon.

However there was a promise left that there would be a man raised up in the future whose right it would be to sit on the throne of the kingdom.  The angel Gabriel makes clear to Mary, the mother of Jesus, that her son was this man and that he would sit on the throne of the kingdom.

Jesus Christ  is therefore to return to the earth to restore the kingdom to Israel and to be its king.  This time, however, God’s principles will be followed perfectly under the hands of His son, Jesus.  Christ’s rulership will be extended to include all parts of the earth which will consequently be blessed.

One of the greatest blessings will be the abolition of wars.  One of Christ’s many titles is ‘Prince of Peace’.  The whole earth will then be blessed in many ways by God, its maker.

We can get involved in this wonderful plan by associating ourselves with Christ by being baptised into his saving name, walking in his commandments and joining those who are waiting for his return.
